5G NR pdcch vs LTE pdcch
LTE pdcch spread across the channel bandwidth while 5G NR pdcch locations depend upon the coreset and its parameters.
As you can see from the figure, in case of LTE you don’t need a parameter for frequency domain as pdcch spread across the channel bandwidth whereas in case of 5G nr, you need some parameters to define frequency domain in addition to the time domain.
Like LTE 5G also support blind decoding of pdcch. In case of lte, PCFIH carries time domain information i.e. number of symbols carrying pdcch. But in 5G NR we need time domain information as well as frequency domain information. All these information are included in coreset parameters. We will discuss about coreset and its parameters in my another blogs.
